Mutualism…

Mutualism is a type of biological or social relationship where different entities or species interact, and all parties derive a net benefit. It acts as a reciprocal “win-win” association and is a fundamental building block of healthy ecosystems and cooperative societal structures. This is one of the easiest and most simple methods of analyzing whether a relationship is working or not. In a personal relationship, do you feel or experience that you are giving over and beyond the reciprocation coming from the person you are serving and loving? In a financial relationship, are you providing above and beyond in financial value to the organization than you are receiving in return? Within your community, are you providing enough time and energy to the collective to give you the right to be critical and withdraw from your social responsibility? Within yourself, are you devoting enough time and energy into your own self development through study, practice, observation, commitment, sacrifice, and determination to resolve the dualities between your body and mind so that you are an example of love rather than frustration? Becoming successful on all fronts is no easy matter as it takes not only daily, but a moment to moment commitment to balancing and weighing your actions and their outcomes. We all regularly experience when we have said or done something that did not represent who we really are and defines ourselves. These are daily tests which we can either learn from or set aside. Saying to ourselves or even out loud, “whatever”, the easiest cop-out of all. Oh, it doesn’t really matter or it wasn’t that important. This is exactly where we go wrong as we are developing an extremely bad habit of overlooking our own shortcomings and allowing them to eventually become part of who we are. We can forgive ourselves this very moment and say to ourselves that from here on out I am going to take stock of myself and be the best person I can be. With this attitude of loving and imagining myself to grow and shine then naturally other people, my community, and the universe will reciprocate, perhaps not immediately, but eventually. What goes around comes around, but the challenge is to observe and identify when relationships are not inspiring you and that is when you have to choose new paths…
