Consciousness refers to your subjective awareness of yourself and the world around you. It encompasses all of your internal experiences, thoughts, feelings, sensations, and memories—as well as your wakeful state of perceiving your environment. This, of course, is the briefest explanation of consciousness that shows up from an internet search. Nowadays there are a plethora of podcasts, YouTube videos, and in depth conversations about consciousness; explaining in greater detail than above and how it pertains to psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, religion, and spirituality among other subjects. We also are extremely concerned with and directly involved in the subject of consciousness; our own individual consciousness and our planetary collective consciousness. On this website under the link HISTORIES we present three distinct timetables of collective consciousness considered in our recorded history, let us say, the previous 5,000 years. The Classical period is dominated by the idea of an abstract authority generically termed as ‘God’, which the powers that be used to rule the masses based on faith. Next came the period called Modernism which began challenging the theories of an abstract omnipotent and omniscient Being deciding our fate now and forevermore based on scientific inquiry. Finally, Post-Modernism we are presently experiencing, poses to essentially question both faith and science with a result of acute loneliness being the common denominator as the ground beneath us has become like quicksand.
Now let us put aside these historical ideas and just focus on our present reality in the initial decades of the third millennium. No matter what our social, economic, physical, or political situation we are all enjoying or suffering these moments. Unless you are living in a vacuum you would have to be conscious of the facts that unless there is a détente, a relaxation of geopolitical tensions or strained relations between rival nations, that our planet could easily explode into nuclear conflicts or at least worldwide depression and starvation. Therefore, our plea is that each of us individually make every effort to at least imagine a world of peace and prosperity and hopefully through global collective consciousness thwart this present path of violence! We can do this! The power of positive thinking is not just a concept, but a real process that on this stage requires as many actors as possible!
